discoid vs. dubia

Postby James M. on Mon Oct 26, 2009 5:56 pm

Hello,
I remember back in the day discoids and lobsters where the norm for feeders and now everyone has dubia and no one really speaks of the discoid much anymore. Why is this? I currently have discoid because that is what I know and never thought twice about it but now my curiosity is flaring up and I am starting to wonder if I need to make a switch.
Thanks,
James

Discoids are bigger, but dubia breed faster and easier. Other than that there is not much difference between the two as a feeder. I keep dubia and lateralis as some T's just don't like dubia.
I'd say if you have a successful discoid colony there is no reason to switch. If your colony is not keeping up with your feedings then I would move to dubia.
